Irish Wave Event Is A Go!

Damn! The wind blew for the first time in a month and I had to spend the day running a contest for everyone else to enjoy their sailing!

Never mind. It’s always a spectacle to see the likes of John Skye and Andy King, John Hibbard and Jamie Hancock display just how loose the kangaroo is in their top paddocks.

Nuclear winds at ‘Dumps’ meant they got to put an awesome jumping display of double forward loops, push-loop tabletops, table forwards and more. In the afternoon we moved them to Stradbally Strand for some waveriding in small but increasing swell to give them a rest from the howling onshore conditions at Dumps. John Skye won round 1 with a great final against John Hibbard.

The second round got to the semi-final stage before the wind died in the evening.

Everyone earned their Guinness yesterday for sure! More later. Gotta go run the next skipper’s meeting and make a call on if and where in Brandon Bay we’ll run the event today.
